Helipad Information
Pilot information
Bayfront Medical Center is located in Class D airspace approximately ¾ mile west of Albert Whited Airport (KSPG). Whitted Tower frequency is 127.4. The ASOS located on the airport has a frequency of 118.875. If not equipped with med channels, pilots can use 123.05 to talk to Bayflite Communications. Be advised, however, that this frequency is typically unmonitored so please call 800-223-4494 in advance so a flight communications specialist can turn the frequency on. The north pad is the "hot" helipad and is typically used for offloading patients from scene flights. For extended shut down, please relocate to the south pad.
Please note the following noise abatement area, and arrival/departure information:
Flight crew information
Twin helipads serve Bayfront Medical Center on the eighth floor. An elevator shaft is located down the ramp from the north pad. The ER is located on the first floor through the double doors on the left after exiting the elevator. A flight communications specialist can escort you to the ER if required. If delivering a patient to All Children's Hospital, they have their own dedicated helipad located on the roof of the Children's Hospital. Note: Aircraft RMI will be off approximately 30degrees when on the helipad due to the metal surface.
